James H. Wilson, 50 of Lodi, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Hospice of Medina County. He was born April 28, 1962, in Lodi, to Thomas and Barbara Sanford Wilson.
He graduated from Cloverleaf High School in 1980 and worked in the family business for several years. Jim did standup comedy for many years across the country, before graduating from the Ohio School for Broadcasting in 1996. He also enjoyed writing, acting and directing in community theatre and his church.
He had radio shows in Youngstown, Dayton and most recently at Rubber City Radio in Akron, where he was most well-known for his overnight show “Big All Night”.
He attended the Crosspointe Community Church in Chippewa Lake. Jim was a family man and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth (Tamba), to whom he was married to for 25 years; daughter, Kristen (Jeremy) Paras of Lodi; sons, Nicholas (Vanessa) Wilson of Rootstown, David Munyan of Chatham; granddaughter, Olivia Wilson; grandson, Ryan Munyan; mother, Barbara Wilson of Lodi; father and stepmother, Thomas and Penny Wilson of Naples, Florida; sister, Wendy Bartlett of Fairlawn; nephew, Evan Bartlett; and numerous extended family members whom he loved.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Blanche Sanford, Winfield and Maxine Wilson; and brother, Richard.
Visitation will be Friday, March 29, 2013, from 5 until 8 P.M., at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi (330-948-1122). Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013, 3 P.M., at Crosspointe Community Church, 7230 Lake Rd., Chippewa Lake. Pastor Randy K’Meyer will officiate.
