Bobby Randell Greathouse “Papaw” was a lifelong resident of Brunswick. He passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 27, 2013, in his sleep, surrounded by family, at the age of 76. Bobby was born in Wayland Kentucky, to Archie and Bureda on June 21, 1936.
He was the second of 16 children. Bobby was married for 53 years to Zella. He worked for U.S. Steel for over 30 years and retired as a Crane Operator. In life, he enjoyed traveling with his family back to his hometown and the sunny beaches of Florida. He also loved sitting outside, walking by his creek with his dogs, Hannah and Sparkle. Bobby enjoyed dining out to meet and talk to new people.
Bobby is survived by his mother, Bureda Hicks (Greathouse), 94, of Medina; son, Robert A. Greathouse; and daughter, Bobbie Jo Baier (Chuckie); grandchildren, Alyssa, Stacy (Tom), Rebecca (Justin), Jennifer, Angel (Shane), Missy (Tim), Chrissy, Shane (Krista) Cheyanne, Diamond (Ray), and Trace; great grandchildren, Cody (Danielle), Nikki, Dy-Dy, and Samantha; brothers, Archie Jr., Richard, Jimmy, Eddie, Jerome, Forrest Dean; and sisters, Sally, Gerty, Barb, and Debbie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Zella Marie; daughter, Caroline; son, Randell; granddaughter, Darlene; father, Archie; brothers, Johnny, Tommy and Clarence; and sister, Beatrice.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2013, 11 A.M., at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Brother Joe will officiate. Bobby will be laid to rest at Hope Memorial Gardens in Hinckley, next to his wife, Zella. The family will receive friends Monday, April 1, 2013, and Tuesday, April 2, 2013, from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 P.M., at the funeral home.
