Eileen K. Schlauch, 95, of Lodi, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. She was born in Norton, Ohio, Febuary 7, 1918, to James H. and Susanne (Miller) Harter.
She married Elmer Schlauch October 27, 1937. They resided in Creston and Nashville, Ohio before moving to Lodi in 1986. Eileen was a member of the Lodi First Congregational Church, and had been a member of the Cloverleaf Mothers Singers, and Medina County Home Extension. Her hobbies were her children, sewing, chair caning and gardening. She had the most beautiful gardens around. Baking was also her hobby. Every year she would bake up to 100 different kinds of cookies for her family and to give away to friends. She was truly a remarkable woman.
She is survived by daughters, Carol (Edward) Pamer of Seville, Kathy (Terry) Leedy of Wadsworth, Robin Baxter of Lodi; sons, Clifford Schlauch of Newcomerstown, Wayne (Carol) Schlauch of Chatham, Bruce Schlauch of Montana; 16 grandchildren; many great, and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; and 10 siblings.
Funeral service will be held Friday, April 5, 2013, at 11 A.M., at the Lodi First Congregational Church, 114 Church St., Lodi. Pastor David Dake will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, Wadsworth. Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 6 to 9 P.M., at the church.
