Today is the deadline to register to vote for the May 7 primary election.
Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted said voters who have moved since the last election need to update their voting address by today if they plan to vote.
Voter registration forms are available at the secretary of state’s website, MyOhioVote.com, and at the Medina County Board of Elections offices, 4210 N. Jefferson St., 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
In-person absentee voting for the primary began Tuesday.
Those wanting to vote by mail must complete, sign and seal their voted ballots and postmark them no later than the day before Election Day.
Voters in 74 counties will be voting on local races and 354 local issues, including 141 school issues and a number of local tax levies, bond issues and charter amendments.
Medina County voters will see three school levies on the ballot:
• An 8.7-mill, five-year levy for Black River Schools;
• A 7.9-mill, 10-year additional levy for Cloverleaf Schools;
• A 5.9-mill, 10-year additional levy for Medina City Schools.
In addition to the school levies, Montville Township voters will decide a 1.3-mill, five-year renewal levy for fire protection and Chippewa Lake Village has a 6-mill, five-year replacement levy for current expenses on the ballot.
