Ruth M. Sallot

Ruth M. Sallot, 91, of Medina, passed onto her heavenly home on Thursday, April 11, 2013. She was born in Cleveland, on January 19, 1922.

She graduated from West Tech High and was married to her high school sweetheart, Frank, for 61 years. Ruth has resided in Medina County since 1970.

Ruth was a homemaker and a very active member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. She and Frank devoted much time, talents and treasures to St. Martin’s and the parishioners. She had owned several gift and craft shops in Valley City and Rocky River. Ruth was a gifted painter, especially designing artwork on china. She was a member of the Western China Painters Guild.

She was the loving mother of Kathy (Donald) Bell of Las Vegas, Neveda and Janis Van Valkenburg of Medina; cherished grandmother of Jon (Tracey) Kiene, Matt (Magaly) Kiene; dearest great grandmother of Chelsea, Blake, Garrett, Maggie and Mack Kiene; dear sister of June (Roman) Conti of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Sallot; her mother, Julia McLaughlin; her brother, Warren (Betty) Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M., Monday, April 15, 2013 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1800 Station Rd., Valley City, OH 44280. Rev. Thomas Dunphy, will officiate. Calling hours will be Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 2 to 5 P.M. at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Rd., Valley City. Burial will be in St. Martin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Martin Catholic Church; or Hospice of Medina County, 5075 Windfall Rd., Medina, OH 44256.
