Mary A. Miller, 75, of Akron and formerly of Lodi and Wooster, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Hospice Care Center in Copley, after a long illness. She was born in Wooster, February 12, 1938 to Onie and Helen Crock Lambert. She grew up in Wooster and moved to Lodi in 1956, when she married the love of her life, William “Corky” Miller.
She worked at City Hardware and was president of the Lodi Mother’s Club and was also involved in Cub Scouts and teaching swimming through the Red Cross. She helped decorate the Easter egg tree in Lodi for many years and loved doing crafts. The thing she loved the most was her family. She was loved by many people and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her daughter, Debbie Miller; sons, Greg (Stacy) Miller, Timothy Miller, who was her faithful caregiver for the last 10 years; grandchildren, Cory (Mike) Pugh, Michael (Dez) Lies, Ashly, Coti and Brandiel Miller; great grandsons, Braiden Lies and Jase Miller; and sisters, Dorothy (Gary) Miller, Joanne Spitler, Betty Walters and Shirley (Terry) Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Corky”; and brothers, Edward and Robert Spitler.
Visitation will be Monday, April 22, 2013, from 6 until 8 P.M., at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi. Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 23, 2013, 11 A.M., at the funeral home. Father Jim Schmitz, of West Salem, will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
