Richard O. Gaeckle

Richard O. Gaeckle, 83, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013, in Burbank. He was born April 2, 1930 in Cleveland, to the late Herbert and Mary (McNamee) Gaeckle.

Richard was a stock broker, business owner, watercolor artist and an actor. He was a member of the American Watercolor Society, Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television Actors. He was also an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Richard served his country in the U.S. Army.

Richard is survived by his children, Richard O. Gaeckle, Jr. (Shara), John Gaeckle (Julie), Ruth Clay (Mark), James (Mary), Edward (Lori), Matthew (Donna) and Andrew (Lynn) Gaeckle; grandfather of 35; and great grandfather of 12.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Gaeckle (Violand); and sisters, Nancy Willis and Mary Lou Smith.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013, 10 A.M., at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church, 3100 S. Weymouth Road, Medina. Father Stephen Dohner will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Granger-Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 24, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, and a half hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
