BEREA – The Browns traded out of the fourth round, and they sent the pick to the rival Pittsburgh Steelers.
With the Browns on the clock at No. 111 – the 14th pick of the fourth round – they sent the selection to the Steelers in exchange for a third-round pick in 2014.
The Browns’ next scheduled pick is at 139 in the fifth round.
The trade is surprising for a couple of reasons.
The Browns entered the draft with only seven picks, and numerous holes on the roster.
And they hadn’t made a trade with the Steelers since 1968, when Cleveland got quarterback Bill Nelsen.
