Loren (Lonnie) Mantz, 73, of Spencer, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013. He was born September 13, 1939 in Cleveland, to Edgar and Helen (Kannenberg) Mantz.
He graduated from Spencer High School in 1957 and served with the Army Reserves. Loren lived most of his life in Spencer, where he retired from the Spencer Manufacturing Company, following 20 years of service.
He spent most of his time farming with his wife and children. He also enjoyed showing cattle at the county fairs, as well as working on antique cars and tractors.
Surviving are his wife, Carol; children, Paul (Robin) Mantz of Maryland, Debra (Todd) Smith of North Carolina, Todd (Cindy) Mantz of Chatham; grandchildren, Christopher Mantz, Mason, Jacob and Jillian Smith; mother, Helen Mantz of Spencer; brother, Robert (Sandy) Mantz of Virginia; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 5:30 to 8:30 P.M. at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St., Spencer, (330) 648-2180. A Private Family Funeral will be held with Rev. Dr. Timothy Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Spencer Cemetery.
