Softball: Hornets take care of details, play Devils today

GRANGER TWP. — The Highland softball team made sure it didn’t dampen today’s Suburban League showdown with Tallmadge, as it blitzed Cloverleaf 13-3 in six innings Tuesday in league play.

The Hornets (12-5, 7-2) played long ball against the Colts (9-11, 3-6), as Amanda Schniegenberg had a grand slam, Kaitlin Krajcik had a three-run jack and Abbigail Rinard also left the yard on an afternoon when she added a double and finished with three RBIs. It was Krajcik’s school-record eighth home run of the season, giving the Ursuline College recruit 35 RBIs in 17 games.
