Clyde R. Foecking, 83, of Valley City, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013. He was born October 25, 1929 in Valley City, to the late Henry and Ann Foecking. Clyde has been a lifelong resident of Valley City.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Clyde was a former member of the Valley City Fire Department and member of St. Martin of Tours Church, Valley City. He had worked for many years as a heavy machine operator for the former C.P. Gilenbach Co. in North Eaton. Clyde enjoyed camping with the family, planting a garden and occasional hunting trip.
Survived by his wife of 60 years, Wilma; father of Betty (John) McWillam of Brunswick, Jim (Donna) of Valley City, Kathy (Peter) Di Gravio and Debbie Shea, both of South Euclid; grandfather of Angela (Ryan) Clark, Vanessa (Danny) Rutherford, Scott Foecking (Heather), Jimmy (Caitie) Foecking, Kevin Foecking (Krista), Peter, Brittney (Bobby) Di Gravio and Ryan Shea; great grandfather of Reagan and Brennan Clark, Annie and Blake Rutherford and Analeana Foecking; and brother of Doris (Robert) Huttinger of Valley City
He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Jonny Shea and Erica DiGravio; sister, Eileen Mirka; and brother, Henry Foecking.
Funeral Mass will be 11 A.M., Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at St. Martin of Tours, 1800 Station Road, Valley City. Reverend Thomas Dunphy will officiate. Burial will be in St. Martin Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City.
In lieu of flowers, The family suggests memorials may be given to the Veterans or a charity of donor’s choice.
