Jerome “Jerry” A. Borso

Jerome “Jerry” A. Borso, 78, of Medina, passed away peacefully, with his wife at his side, Sunday, May 12, 2013. He was born January 1, 1935 in Cleveland, to the late John and Raphaela Borso.

Jerry had resided in Cuyahoga County for many years prior to moving to York Township, six years ago. He served in the U.S. Navy and Army. Jerry was a member of St. Martin of Tours, Valley City. At age 17, Jerry began his career as a lithographer’s apprentice at the the former Continental Lithograph Co. and retired from there 43 years later.

From pin setting during high school to a 300 game, Jerry loved to bowl. He was a member of the Professional Bowlers Association and participated in many single and team tournaments. Jerry was also an avid golfer, where he made countless friends and traveled on many annual golf trips.

Jerry was a loving husband of 56 years, to Dolores (nee Obelz); cherished father of Laura Borso (Sandra Ambris) of Florida and Linda (Joe) Garrett, of Valley City; dear brother of John Borso (Rita deceased), Ursula Fretto, (deceased), Emily Richter, (deceased), Beatrice (Dick) Oblak and Kenneth (Janet) Borso; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 A.M., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at St. Martin of Tours Chapel, 1800 Station Road, Valley City with Reverand Thomas Dunphy as the Celebrant. Friends and family are asked to meet at the church. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery, Valley City. There will be no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City.
