Rose Ann Kurtz, 71, of Lorain, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Lorain, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Lodi, on July 19, 1941 to Paul and Jean Nixon Kurtz.
She grew up in Spencer and graduated from Black River High School in 1961. Rose was employed by Standadyne Moen in Elyria and later Hinckley Lighting in Cleveland for 17 years. She was a member of Spencer United Methodist Church, and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
Her family would like to thank all of her many friends at Firelands Retirement Center, for all of the kindness and sympathy they have offered.
She is survived by her sister, Judith (Otis) Lyons of Sheffield Lake; brother, David Kurtz of Lorain; and nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Paula Jean Kurtz.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 24, 2013, at 2 P.M., at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 202 East Main St., Spencer, (330) 648-2180. Reverend Dr. Timothy Morrison will officiate. Inurnment will be in Spencer Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
