STILLWATER, Okla. — Medina resident Matt Meadows lost his quarterfinal match Sunday at the U.S. World Team Trials at Oklahoma State’s Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Competing for Patriot Elite Wrest-ling Club, Meadows dropped a 6-4 decision to Danny Chaid in a 96 kilogram junior freestyle match.
According to USA Wrestling’s Twitter account, the match was knotted at 2 with 2 minutes remaining before Meadows executed a takedown. Chaid bounced back, however, recording a takedown and then turning Meadows.
Meadows competes collegiately for George Mason. Previously, he was a state champion and nationally ranked wrestler for Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy.
