PHOTO: Salvation Army food drive reaches 450 items

Lt. Michael Smith of the Salvation Army of Medina checks out about 450 canned goods and other food items collected since Monday in a summer food drive. Donations are accepted at any time of the day and are not limited to just during the drive, which ends Friday. People looking to benefit from the food pantry can come to the Salvation Army Center, 425 W. Liberty St., Medina, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays. Case worker Estella Hutchinson said that the pantry helps anywhere between 65 and 85 families a month with the numbers on the rise during the summer because of school being out.
