Carrie M. Klock, 94, formerly of Medina, passed away in Inglis, Florida surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of Citrus County Florida. Carrie was born in Lakeville, Ohio on April 20, 1919, to the late John R. and Ruth (Raby) Tope.
She was employed as a bookkeeper at American Radiator, Standard Sanitary, ITS Co. and Harshaw Chemical. Carrie was a very active and longtime member of the Medina United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Paul Shearer, Sr. of Inglis, Florida; and her former daughters-in-law, Virginia Shearer of Brunswick and Christine Shearer of Crystal River, Florida; grandsons, Paul (Sara Tostevin) Shearer, Jr. of Inglis, Florida, Robert J. Shearer of Wadsworth and John (Marjorie) Shearer, Sr. of Inglis, Florida; granddaughters, Tami A. Shearer of Las Vegas, Nevada and Kimberly (Steve) Petrush of Wadsworth; former granddaughter-in-law, Brenda Shearer of Chiefland, Florida; great grandchildren, Courtney, Noah, David, Carrie, Joshua, John Jr., Amber Lilly, Amber Shearer, Nathan and Lisa; great great grandchildren, Carley, Star, Carolyn and Connar; brothers, John (Eileen) Tope, Jr. of Loudenville, Edward E. (Phyllis) Everstine of Zelienople, Pennsylvania; sister, Clare Duncan Clemens of Bellville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Perry A. Shearer; her second husband, Charles Luther Klock; brothers, Paul, William and Don; and sisters, Mary and Lucille.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 P.M., Friday, July 19, 2013 at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Reverend Dr. David Tennant and Susan Hume will officiate. Interment will be at Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 4 to 6 P.M. at the funeral home.
