Charles “Michael” Balogh

Charles “Michael” Balogh, 68, of Wooster, entered into rest Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Akron City Hospital, following a period of declining health. He was born on March 12, 1946 in Medina, to Charles Carl and Alta Marie (Hayes) Balogh and has been a Wooster resident for the last eight years.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietman Conflict from 1966-1971 and was honored with two purple Hearts. He was an devoted supporter of the Disabled Veterans of America. He previously worked in maintenance with area Rail Road companies for many years. He enjoyed all types of sports, loved being with people and especially his many family of friend’s.

He is survived by his numerous, loving friends especially from the Medina area and also includes, Marlene S. Ross, Brian McQuillen, both of Wooster, Steven Fluharty of Medina and Victoria Smith of Wooster.

His parents preceded him in death.

Service will take place Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 2 P.M. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating with full military honors. Per his wishes, there will be no public visitation.
