Angelene J. “Angie” Bass McKim

Angelene J. “Angie” Bass McKim, 56, of York Township, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Angie was born December 21, 1956 in Cleveland, to the late Nealon and Elizabeth Bass.

Angie grew up in Valley City and then moved to York Township when she got married. She was a 1975 graduate of Buckeye High School. Angie was a former Medina County Fair Honey Bee Princess. Angie was an owner of Compliance Protection, Inc., Medina. She was the Steering Committee Chairperson of the Medina County Safety Council for the past 15 years. Angie enjoyed the camaraderie of business and safety professionals at both the local and state levels. Angie was most at home in her kitchen preparing to entertain family and friends on their birthdays and at the holidays. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Angie gave her gift of life by being an organ donor.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Wayne; brother, Alan (Bev) Bass of North Carolina; and her business partner, Glenn Becker of Medina. Angie was an animal lover and she leaves behind her pups, Brandy, Lucy and Lovie and many kitty cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her step father, Delos Mellert.

At Angie’s request, her body has been cremated. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City. Immediately following at 8 P.M. will be a celebration of life service with Reverend Keith McKim, brother-in-law, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Medina County Animal Shelter, 6334 Deerfield Lane, Medina, OH 44256.
