Fire struck a commercial building in downtown Lodi on Friday afternoon. The building, at 104 Medina St., houses D’Antonio’s Pizza, the Odd Fellows Club and the Good Samaritan’s Thrift Shop.

Police and fire departments responded to a report of the fire at 5 p.m., Police Chief Keith Keough said.

“We got a call that there was smoke and when we arrived we put a hand on the door and it was hot,” Keough said.

No flames were visible from the outside and no one was injured, he said.

Keough said the fire started at the rear of the thrift store and it was under control by 5:30 p.m.

Fire Chief Jeremy Patalon had not determined the cause of the fire Friday night and a damage estimate was not available.
