OVI checkpoint announced for later this week

A drunken driving checkpoint is scheduled for some time this week, the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Medina post announced Saturday.

The exact location will be announced the morning of the checkpoint.

It will be put on by the Medina County OVI Task Force and is designed to deter intoxicated driving.

Police agencies are required to announced checkpoints ahead of time to comply with Fourth Amendment search and seizure laws.

Check the Gazette later this week for the checkpoint location.
