A boil alert was lifted Thursday for residents south of Smokerise Drive and east of Wadsworth Road.
“Test results are negative; therefore, water use can be resumed as normal,” city Service Director Nino Piccoli said.
The alert remains in effect for about 20 homes in the immediate area of the break — on East Washington Street and Alber Drive.
Piccoli said those residents will be notified individually when the alert is lifted. Residents in the affected area are advised to boil tap water used for drinking at least a minute.
The alert was issued Wednesday after a water main broke in the 900 block of East Washington Street at about 2 p.m.
The city will post updates at www.medinaoh.org, Armstrong cable access channels 36 and 37 and the city’s Facebook page.
