Buy a pizza, help a family

Local Papa John’s pizza shops are partnering with Feeding Medina County to help raise money for families in need.

For every customer who donates $5 to the nonprofit Feeding Medina County on specific days, Papa John’s will provide a free medium pepperoni pizza. No other purchase is necessary.

The fundraiser starts today at the Medina Papa John’s, 500 S. Court St.

Diane Robbins, general manager at the Medina location, said this is the first time the company has done a fundraiser with the nonprofit, which helps fight hunger in Medina County by distributing food from the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and other programs.

“We were just trying to think of something that would help our community,” she said.

The fundraiser will be 3 to 7 p.m. at each Papa John’s in Medina County on the following days:

• 500 S. Court St., Medina, today.

• Brunswick, 4260 Center Road, Aug. 20.

• Wadsworth, 132 Akron Road, Aug. 27.

Each of the restaurants also will accept nonperishable food items.
