Dorothy M. Murphy, 91, of Parma, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren in Brunswick. She was born November 2, 1921 in Cleveland, to the late Joseph and Francis (nee Plucinski) Schaedler.
Dorothy was loved, enjoyed and celebrated by many. She will be remembered as a Girl Scout leader, a baseball coach and her volunteer work with a variety of organizations. She enjoyed playing golf and bowling.
Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Jacqueline (Tony) Walla, Clifford (Jeri) Murphy, Sandra (Jack) Burton, Daniel (Patricia) Murphy, Therese (John) Spickler, Debra (David) Blenda, Peggy (Hank) Koenig and Bernadette (Dan) Orlando; 21 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Murphy of 61 years; and five brothers and sisters.
Friends and family may call Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 19, 2013 at 10 A.M. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 929 Pearl Rd., Brunswick. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park.
