PHOTOS: Heritage Elementary students leave their mark

On the back of the bee’s head are handprints of 14 Heritage Elementary School students. Bottom row, from left: Eric Wendland, Sarah Holdridge, Isabella Vein and Hayden Fortlage; second row, from left: Elijah Bulan, Ethan Root, Wesley Carr, Adam Kacludis and Owen Slimmer; third row, from left: Jakob Gerhard, Kyle Wendland and Andrew Kacludis. Behind the students are Shelby Kacludis, the artist and Heritage PTO co-president who painted the bee, and Medina Mayor Dennis Hanwell. Two other students whose handprints are on the bee, James and William Feeks, were unable to attend the ceremony Saturday at Root Candles. (PHOTO PROVIDED)

Robbie Loyer, 8, and his 3-year-old brother, Galvin, of Medina, check out the Heritage Elementary School Bee painted by Kacludis. The bee was one of 10 on display as part of the “What’s the Buzz” public art project unveiled Saturday at Root Candles. The project is a cooperative effort of Medina City Schools, the Medina City Schools Foundation, the city of Medina and Main Street Medina. (PHOTO BY DAVID KNOX)
