Driver remains critical after crash

LITCHFIELD TWP. — A Chatham Township resident remains hospitalized in critical condition following a Tuesday afternoon crash.

At about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, Charles Osborne, 53, drove his minivan left of center on state Route 18 near Erhart Road, and crashed head-on into another minivan, the Ohio Highway Patrol reported.

Trooper Zachary Coleman said Osborne was flown by emergency helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where he was listed in critical condition Friday. The trooper said the second driver, David M. Berger, 26, of Litchfield Township, was treated for minor injuries and released at the scene.

Coleman said the accident remains under investigation.
