The Medina County Park District will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Carolyn Ludwig Mugrage Park at 2 p.m. today near the picnic shelter. The park entrance, at 4985 Windfall Road in Granger Township, is about a quarter-mile north of state Route 18.
Naturalist-led hikes will be held after the ceremony. Golf-cart tours will be available for those with difficulty walking.
The park is on 104 acres donated by Richard and Beverly Mugrage and named in honor of Richard Mugrage’s mother, Carolyn.
Under construction for more than 2 1/2 years, the park features a paved multipurpose trail, sledding hill, several nature trails, a catch-and-release fishing pond, entry drive and parking lots. Future development includes a dog park area and a playground.
