Theodore “Ted” Guy Jackson, of Medina, found the peace and love his Heavenly Father promised him, Friday, August 23, 2013. Born in New Jersey, Ted moved to Wadsworth with his family when he was nine months old. He attended Wadsworth High School, and studied printing his last two years.
Upon his graduation in 1947, his first job was for the Wadsworth News Banner. In 1950, Ted was drafted into the Army serving in the 2nd Infantry Division, 38th Regiment, C Company during the Korean War. Here he earned a Bronze Star for Heroism.
Upon returning home, he rejoined the newspaper, where he worked for 20 years. Ted continued in the printing industry working for Adcraft and then American Printing, where he served loyal customers such as Hoover, Westfield, and B.F. Goodrich. His printing career came to an end after a serious accident. Following his recovery from this accident, he worked part-time for 19 years for Marc’s in Medina.
Ted’s hobbies included bowling, fishing, photography and playing cards. He was also an avid movie buff. He was a devoted member of the Liberty Baptist Fellowship Church in Medina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence T. and Demaris Jackson; sister, Ella May Maple; wife, Elnora B. Jackson; and second wife, Pauline M. Jackson. Ted leaves behind his loving family, Kelly and Brian Massie, their daughters, Breanna, Courtney, and Emily; and dear close friends, Paul Hanshaw and Paula Howard.
Ted’s family would like to thank HMC – Hospice of Medina County for all of their loving care.
Service will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 1 P.M., at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Pastor Max Deffenbaugh will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth. The family will receive friends Monday, August 26, 2013, from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
