MEDINA — The city plans to transform the former Key Bank drive-through, across from Public Square, into a visitors’ center equipped with public restrooms.
City Council’s finance committee Monday unanimously approved paying $320,000 to buy the property at 119 Public Square from First States Investors 2550A LLC., a holding company.
The drive-through, at West Liberty and North Court streets, had been a Key Bank branch. After that, it was leased to the Cool Beans coffee shop, located across North Court Street, to serve drive-up customers.
The facility now is vacant.
The purchase still must be approved at the next regular Council meeting in two weeks. That is expected to be a formality because the finance committee consists of all seven members of Council.
