WADSWORTH — The Wadsworth Public Library Board of Trustees has named Daniel Slife director of the library.
Slife will replace C. Allen Nichols, who resigned in May to take over as executive director of the Akron Bar Association.
Slife, the director of the Huron Public Library in Erie County, was chosen from a field of 50 candidates. He will begin work Oct. 7.
Slife has a degree in urban studies from Cleveland State University and a master’s of library and information science degree from Kent State University.
Slife was the supervisor in the Adult and Electronic Services Department at Lakewood Public Library before taking the job at Huron.
In a news release, the board lauded his background in civic activism and volunteerism, including his service to Lakewood library’s levy campaign.
They said Slife intends to move to Wadsworth with his wife and child.
