GUILFORD TWP. — A small plane made an emergency crash landing in a field this morning at about 10 a.m.
Pilot Leah R. Hetzel, 24, of Brunswick and co-pilot Robert J. Greene, 59, of Rocky River were flying a 1946 ERCoupe south over Guilford Township when they had some engine trouble, according to the Medina Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.
Hetzel then flew east and circled back west to land in a field in the first farm south of Blake Road on Guilford Road.
No one was injured and the plane sustained minor damage.
“She caught her wing on some corn stalks,” said Sgt. Tim Dearmitt of the patrol.
The Federal Aviation Administration was also on scene investigating the crash.
