Sheriff’s cruiser, Harley collide

MEDINA — Two people have been released from the hospital after a motorcycle crash involving a Medina County sheriff’s cruiser.

Deputy Jason Seiberling was southbound on U.S. Route 42, displaying flashing lights and sirens on his way to an emergency call, when the crash occurred at about 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, said Lt. Bill Haymaker, commander of the Medina post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Haymaker said Seiberling was passing some traffic at Brookdale Mobile Home Park and crashed into a southbound 1998 Harley Davidson ridden by Brian Watts, 49, of Orrville, which was attempting to turn left.

Watts and his passenger, Bridget Reed, 39, of Brook Park, fell off the motorcycle. They were taken to Akron City Hospital, where they were treated for moderate injuries and released, Haymaker said.

“The crash is still under investigation,” Haymaker said.
