Phyllis M. O’Connell, 68, of Litchfield, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013, after a long battle with multiple myeloma. She was born March 3, 1945, to the late William E. and Mary A. Smith, in Cleveland.
Phyllis was a retired bus driver for the Buckeye School System. She and her husband, Tim, enjoyed camping, the outdoors, and spending time with many friends and family.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Tim, of 49 years; children, Tim (Jill), Jim (Julie), Colleen (Shane) Potter, and Greg (Amy); grandchildren, Tim, Tyler, Keith, Dana, Chelsea, Shane, Megan, Nathan, Cody, and Donovan; brother, William (Pat) Smith; brothers-in-law, Dennis O’Connell and Don Novak; sisters-in-law, Liz (Tom) Kilpatrick and Susie O’Connell; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friends and caregivers, Betty Farley, Lynn Wise, and her endearing niece, Kelly Provencher.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Carol Novak; grandson, Jason; sister-in-law, Bonnie O’Connell; and dear friend, Linda Calvert.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2013, 10 A.M., at St. Martin of Tours Church, 1800 Station Road, Valley City. Friends may call Tuesday, September 17, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Interment will be at Litchfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Red Cross or Hospice of Medina County.
