Medina police log for Sept. 18

Woman hit during attempted theft

MEDINA — A 66-year-old woman was taken Sept. 8 to Medina Hospital after a man hit her while trying to steal her purse, according to police.

The woman was getting out of her van at 5:51 p.m. when a man hit her on the head and tried and failed to take her purse in the parking lot of Marc’s, 1041 N. Court St. The woman fell into the driver’s seat of her van and closed the door, according to police.

The would-be thief was described as a black man in his early 30s with a mustache, who was wearing a white T-shirt and black pants.

Police searched the area but did not find the man.

The woman was released from the hospital that day.

7:33 a.m. — 900 block N. Court St., Kenneth E. Coleman, 58, 395 W. Union St., Apt. 6, Medina, charged with criminal trespass; he’s accused of refusing to leave a storefront and asking patrons for cigarettes.

9:48 a.m. — 200 block S. Huntington St., pole jack reported stolen.

Saturday, Sept. 14
12:07 a.m. — 1100 block N. Court St., money reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
4:08 a.m. — 200 block Medina Road, Richard J. Price, 32, 330 Foundry St., Medina, charged with assault.
4:39 p.m. — 300 block Jackson St., burglary reported, Vicodin pills stolen.
10:22 p.m. — 700 block Lafayette Road, burglary reported at an apartment.

Sunday, Sept. 15
11:47 a.m. — 1100 block Lake Road, truck batteries reported stolen from a business.
5:16 p.m. — 300 block W. Union St., cell phone reported stolen, juvenile charged.

Monday, Sept. 16
9:56 a.m. — 800 block Oak St., a man came home to find his television on the back porch; nothing reported stolen.
1:46 p.m. — 100 block N. Broadway St., grave monuments reported knocked over.
