Camper, 46, is reported missing

LODI — Police are looking for a 46-year-old man reported missing by his family.

Robert L. Beavers Jr.’s mother said he left to go on an annual weekend camping trip near Loudonville with some friends on Sept. 6 and hasn’t been seen since.

Lodi police said in a Facebook post that he was last seen Sept. 10. A police spokesperson said Beavers reported to a friend that he became extremely ill while camping.

Beavers, whose last listed address was an apartment on Buffham Road, is the general manager at the Levi’s store in the Lodi Outlet Mall. He was due back to work Sept. 9.

Joyce Beavers said her son sent a text message to his sister, Sheri Ulich, of West Salem, on Sept. 12 that said only

“I’m alive.”

“I can’t believe this is happening, I really can’t,” the mother said. “He has a new car and this job he has, he was supposed to go to Las Vegas for a convention this year. He was so happy, he couldn’t wait to go.”

Beavers is described as being 5-feet-7-inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He has graying hair and green eyes.
