Daniel C. Vetovitz

Daniel C. Vetovitz, 66, of Medina, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013. He was born January 14, 1947, in Parma, to the late William and Mertice Vetovitz.

Dan honorably served his country in the 101st Army Airborne during Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a member and former chaplain of Medina VFW Post 5137 and Medina VVA Chapter 385. Once Dan returned home from Vietnam, he worked as a stone mason for many years. During his last working years, Dan drove for Suburban Transportation, where he enjoyed helping special needs children.

Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Yvonne; children, Laura (Trent) Doak and Scott (Julie) Peto; grandchildren, Ian and Christopher; and brothers, Bill (Johanna) and Vernon Vetovitz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A family and friends tribute will be held today, Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at 7 P.M., (Please bring your memories of Dan), at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, where family will receive friends today, one hour prior to Dan’s tribute from 6 to 7 P.M. A private family interment will be held, with military honors, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
