After graduating from Chatham High in 1948, she attended beauty school where she became a hairdresser. She married Richard D. Howk in 1951 while he was enlisted in fighting the Korean War. They moved to Southern California in 1963. Neva enjoyed reading, gardening, genealogy, sewing, and keeping in touch with many friends she grew up with. It was truly remarkable, the love and devotion she showed in taking complete care of her disabled husband for years. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were a great source of happiness in her life. She was a remarkable, caring woman, who loved her family and friends unconditionally.
She is survived by her husband, Richard of Santa Ana, California; three daughters, Pamela White of Goodyear Arizona, Bonnie Coulter of Tulsa Oklahoma, and Kathy Martinez of Corona, California; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
