Wadsworth police probe Lowe’s thefts

WADSWORTH — Police are investigating two thefts from the Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse.

Appliances valued at more than $6,000 were reported stolen last week from a trailer outside the store, 1065 Williams Reserve Blvd.

The trailer is owned by Appliance Warehouse, a Pittsburgh company that buys used appliances that Lowe’s delivery crews remove from the homes of customers who buy new appliances.

On Oct. 8, Appliance Warehouse reported that about $1,200 worth of used appliances were missing from the trailer since Oct. 2.

On Monday, the company called again to report an additional $5,000 in stolen appliances taken between Oct. 8 and 10.

Wadsworth police Lt. Rob Wyrick said police have some leads they are pursuing.

Lowe’s declined to comment and Appliance Warehouse did not return a call for comment.
