Man, 25, pleads not guilty to child porn

MEDINA — A 25-year-old Brunswick man pleaded not guilty Monday in Medina County Common Pleas Court to having child pornography on his computer.

Nicholas Sutherland, of 1478 S. Carpenter Road, is scheduled for a Dec. 16 trial before county Common Pleas Judge Christopher J. Collier.

Sutherland is charged with six counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, fifth-degree felonies punishable by up to a year in prison each.

He was set for arraignment in county Common Pleas Judge James L. Kimbler’s courtroom Thursday, but Kimbler recused himself because he’s the one who issued the search warrant that led to Sutherland’s arrest.
