Marjorie Jane (Weigand) Warner, 88, entered heaven Saturday, October 19, 2013. She was born May 31, 1925, in Dover, Ohio. She was the cherished wife of 69 years to Joseph Richard Warner, whom she married April 1, 1944, and who survives her. They made their home in Canton since 1955.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Marjorie was also a gifted artist, gardener, chef, host, home decorator, seamstress and floral designer. She studied scripture, read voraciously, laughed heartily and was a fearless servant to the poor and suffering. She insisted her bridge game was merely average.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah Weigand; four brothers; and one sister.
She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband; their children and spouses, Lorraine (Preston) Cook of Sharon Center, Marc (Gay Smith) Warner of Canton, Lynne (Michael) Dragomier of Canton, Marsha (Rod) McGregor of Hudson. She is held in loving memory by grandchildren, Preston Joseph (P.J.) Cook, Melissa (Ross) Roadruck, John Warner, Michael J. (Terra) Dragomier, Matthew Dragomier, Drew McGregor, Kate McGregor; and great-grandson, Lucas Dragomier.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 24, 2013, from 5 until 8 P.M., in the Wackerly Funeral Home, 1375 North Market Ave., Canton, Ohio 44714. Marjorie’s life will be celebrated at a funeral Mass Friday, October 25, 2013, 10 A.M., at Christ the Servant Parish in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, with Monsignor Lewis F. Gaetano as Celebrant, where she and Joseph were longtime faithful members. Private burial for the family will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to St. Joseph Care Center, 2308 Reno Dr., Louisville, OH 44641 or the Food Bank of Christ the Servant Parish, 833 39th Street NW, Canton, OH 44709
