Charles J. Urdzik entered into heaven Sunday, October 20, 2013, after a 14 month battle with Glioblastoma Multiform brain cancer. Chuckie was born in Steubenville, September 20, 1948, to Susan and George Urdzik (both deceased).
His childhood was spent in Mingo Junction, Ohio. He loved his Ohio Valley.
Charles leaves his loving wife, Pattie (Landers) Urdzik; and loyal, spoiled dog, Blossom, of Wadsworth. Also left behind are brothers, James of Medina, and George (Jan) of Santa Rosa, California; niece, Kristen (Tim) of Euclid; nephew, David (Lynda) of Twinsburg; brother-in-law, Thom (Mari) of Las Vegas; nephew, Christopher (Kristen) of Maricopa, Arizona; niece, Libbianne of San Diego; and godson, Max Swartout of Ravenna. He leaves special friends, Phyllis, Bill, Michael, Laura, Brandon, Paul, Michael, Lisa, Molly, Mary, Dianne, John, Polly, Suzie, Ann Marie, and Doug. He also enjoyed the friendship of many other friends and extended family. Rejoicing his entry into heaven is Chuck’s buddy, “Braatz: Bless the angels and saints who have to keep them in line.
Charlie graduated from Catholic Central High School in Steubenville, class of 1966. Dr. Chuck went on to receive his B.S. (1970), M.A. (1979), and Ph.D. (1983) from Kent State University. Charles was employed by Summit County Human Services, Portage County Juvenile Court, The Village Network, and Cornerstone Psychological Services. Charlie enjoyed 12 years of retirement with his computer. The computer was his library…knowledge was his life…information was his guru.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, celebrate his life with a delicious Italian meal and a glass of Rombauer Chardonnay or Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio.
