Leon retired from Medina Supply. He enjoyed deer hunting and woodworking. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Leon was the beloved husband of Virginia (Painter) to whom he was married 66 years; loving father of Larry (Marsha) Craddock, Barb (Gary) Nelson of Minnesota, Kathy (Rick) Garrison of Seville and Sue (Ned) Lichty of Westfield Center; dear grandfather of Chris (Joe) Meek, Terry (Heather) Craddock, Juli (Jason) Diederich, Kim Nelson, Mike Garrison, Nathan (Leeann) Garrison, Matt (Amy) Garrison, Jana (Joe) Smithberger and Josh (Jen) Lichty; great-grandfather of 16; great-great-grandfather of one; stepgrandfather of three; and step-great-grandfather of eight; dearest brother of Lois King of North Carolina; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, October 28, 2013, 11 A.M., at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Pastor Brian Amstutz will officiate. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 27, 2013, from 3 to 7 P.M., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Hospice of Medina County, or the charity of your choice.
