Developer donates $4M to hospital

BRUNSWICK — A Medina real estate developer and philanthropist is donating $4 million to the Cleveland Clinic.

Ken Cleveland will present the check this afternoon at the Brunswick’s Cleveland Clinic Family Health Center, 3724 Center Road.

The health center — the Cleveland Clinic’s newest facility — will be named in Cleveland’s honor.

Cleveland has developed many housing and commercial properties throughout Medina County.

Ken Cleveland Park, on Sturbridge Drive, was named after him by the city. He developed the surrounding housing developments and donated the land for the park, which includes play structures and walking trails.

Medina Mayor Dennis Hanwell said Cleveland also has played an active role in many local fundraisers and charitable organizations.

“Throughout Medina County, he’s been very giving to the community,” Hanwell said. “Overall, he’s just a great guy.”
