Dennis B. Dunkle, 61, of Litchfield, passed away while doing what he loved Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Dennis was born February 4, 1952 in Berea, to Warren and Catherine Dunkle. He resided in Medina County all his life. Dennis was a 1971 graduate of Buckeye High School. He enjoyed music, especially playing his guitar and his band Rising Sun was the last to play at the old Chippewa Lake Park. Dennis was a girl’s softball coach in Litchfield for many years. He played on a Medina Eagles softball team for many years and was part of the 1977 National Championship team. Dennis was co-owner of Bernard Specialties as a graphic arts finisher. His greatest love was his family and he took great pride in game hunting, especially deer and turkey.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Kasandra (Jerry) Pantaleano; his soul mate of 29 years, Donna; his mother, Catherine (Kay) Dunkle; sisters and brothers, Loreen (Fred) Rote, Tim (Wendy), Jane Guseman, Jack (Debbie) and Tom (Carol); many nieces and nephews; and in-laws, William and JoAnn Bracken.
He was preceded in death by his father, Warren.
Funeral Service will be held 8:30 P.M., Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City, with Pastor Jerry Gates officiating. Calling hours will be Saturday, 3 to 5 and 7 to 8:30 P.M., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Litchfield Fire and Rescue Department.
