Gloria enjoyed the outdoors, liked butterflies, and was an avid walker for many years. She enjoyed singing and ballroom dancing. In previous years, she sang in the Edith Marec chorus and also sang in a trio with her sisters, Evelyn and Gladys. Gloria worked at the A.I. Root Company for 10 years, where she made sanctuary candles. She was married to Robert Leidal (deceased), who was the love of her life. She treasured her memories of her favorite trip which was to Hawaii. She was a member of the Medina United Methodist Church for over 50 years, graduated from Granger High School in 1944, and was a resident of Nottingham Villas for over 30 years.
Gloria is survived by her youngest sister, Joan Bitting; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leidal; parents, Fred and Florence Anderson; twin sister, Gladys Yates; sisters, Ruth Stelzer Durkee, Evelyn Early; and brother, Jack Anderson.
The family of Gloria is especially grateful to Samaritan Care Center, Crossroads Hospice, and Susan Humes for the compassionate, professional, and quality care.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2013, 2 P.M., at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, with Susan Hume presiding. Burial will follow at Granger Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, November 12, 2013, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., at the funeral home.
