John S. Williams

John S. Williams, 68, of Medina, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013. John was born July 1, 1945 in Cleveland, to the late Harold L. and Mary E. (Streett) Williams.

He graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology after serving his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He had an inquisitive mind and enjoyed learning new things, especially science and nature. John was a longtime insurance adjuster for Ohio Farmers Insurance Company (Westfield) and Motors Mutual Insurance. John loved working with his hands by building model planes, working with stained glass and playing the drums. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution in Cleveland.

A man of strong Christian beliefs, he was faithfully devoted to his friends and family. His faith encouraged him to help serve meals at shelters on Thanksgiving. With a great sense of humor, John could always be counted on for a laugh and a smile.

He is survived by his son, John S. Williams, Jr.; and sister, Nancy McCaleb

John was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Bruce

Graveside services will be held Friday, November 15, 2013, 12:30 P.M., at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, OH 44270.
