James K. Fitzgerald, 46, of Delaware, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 9, 2013 at home. He was born October 7, 1967 in Lodi, the son of the Judith (Tipton) Fitzgerald of Delaware and the late Robert J. Fitzgerald.
A graduate of Cloverleaf High School in 1986, he and his family then moved to Delaware. Jim worked as both a dispatcher and courier for Premier Services in Columbus. He was labeled by his coworkers as both a sweetheart and hard worker.
With his outgoing nature, he never met a stranger and once a friend you were a friend for life. His nature attributed to his circle of friends nationwide. He was a member of the Pacific Coast Riders Club. He loved adventure, which included riding motorcycles and 4 wheeling, during his youth he enjoyed tractor pulls with his father. Always supportive of his friends and family, he treasured his children and often bragged of their accomplishments. As simply expressed by his family, he was a good person.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother; children, Kevin and Colleen Fitzgerald of Chillicothe; step daughters, Amanda Berry, Kimberly Raven, Melanie Sauls; grandmother, Nadine Tipton; and a host of friends.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Emma Louise in 2009; infant sister, Michelle; and grandfather, Henry Tipton.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Dr, Delaware, where services will be held 11 A.M., Friday, November 15, 2013 with Pastor Jeff Slider officiating. Graveside services will then be held at 3 P.M. at the Woodlawn Cemetery, 409 Medina St., Lodi.
