Bette M. Jones

Bette M. Jones, age 75, formerly of Apple Creek, died on Friday, November 15, 2013 at North Park Care Center in Brook Park, Ohio. Bette was born in Garber, Oklahoma on June 6, 1938 and graduated from Salem Community High School in Salem, Illinois and the University of Illinois. She obtained a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Akron and taught high school English, British Literature, and Spanish. In her adult life she lived in Champaign, Illinois, Anchorage, Alaska, Seville, Ohio, St James City, Florida, and Apple Creek. Bette loved her family, nature, wildlife, animals, reading, and camping. She volunteered for CROW (Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife) in Sanibel, Florida, supported Greyhound adoptions with an adoption of her own. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardens and adored her pets. She was a member of the Orrville Christian Church.

Bette is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Tom) Farmer of Berea; and son, Rodney (Odgerel) Jones of Valdez, Alaska; brother, Dan (Joani) McCullough of Palm Coast, Florida; grandchildren, Ashley (Andrew) Wagner of Arlington, Virginia, Tom (Liz) Farmer of Berea, Ohio, Andy Farmer of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Kelsey Farmer (Sean Miller) of Mukilteo, Washington, Meghan Jones and Hunter Jones of Wasilla, Alaska, Ethan Jones of Charleston, South Carolina, Anujin Jones, Emerson Jones, Alistair Jones of Valdez, Alaska; nieces, Kelly McCullough of Providence, Rhode Island, Amanda (Ohmarx) Paniagua of Lilburn, Georgia, Chelsea McCullough of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida; nephew, Scott McCullough of Boulder, Colorado; and great-granddaughter, Abigail Farmer.

Her parents Mutt and Grace McCullough preceded her in death.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside ceremony will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 1 P.M. at the Foxfield Preserve, Wilmot, Ohio.

The family suggests that friends may make a donation to the Friends of Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Road, Wooster, OH 44691 in her memory.
