About 35 Christmas carolers, including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and a church youth group, gathered around the gazebo at Maria Stanhope Park in downtown Seville on Sunday evening for the Seville Historical Society’s first Candlelight Walk.

Carol Pamer, society vice president, said she organized the event and invited local youth groups to get the younger generation interested in the historical society.

“We’re trying to build it up, get the younger generation involved,” she said.

The weather cooperated: It was clear and not too cold, with the temperature well above freezing.

The evening ended with hot chocolate, cider and popcorn for all, and tours of the Historical Society, located across the street from the park.
