PHOTOS: Gas dips below $3 a gallon

The price of a gallon of regular gas dipped below $3 at several area service stations in Medina on Wednesday, including the Marathon station at South Court Street and Lafayette Road, the Shell station on West Liberty Street at State Road, and the Stop-N-Go in the 800 block of West Liberty Street. According to GasBuddy.com, prices in the county ranged from $2.95 to $3.19 per gallon. The website reported that Ohio had the 14th highest percentage of stations selling gasoline less than $3 per gallon in the nation, with 21 percent reporting prices below $3 per gallon. The national average was 11.3 percent. (GAZETTE PHOTOS BY DAVID KNOX)

Not for long… Gas Buddy just alerted that gas is jumping to $3.29 at lunch today (12/5).nI don’t get this strategy of selling gas by $0.30 hikes and drops. This has been the norm for the last two months. I have made it through by accepting the $2.95 price as the lowest price for gas. I top off each day I see it and ride out the $3.30 price hikes.
