No change in Black River school board race

SULLIVAN TWP. — A recount of the results of the Nov. 5 election didn’t change who won seats on the Black River school board.

Tim Clifford was the top vote-getter and Timothy Simmons finished second, winning the second seat on the board, according to the Lorain County Board of Elections. Simmons beat third-place finisher Janet Eichel by only 10 voters.

The recount, approved Wednesday, was triggered automatically because of the closeness of the votes in the six-way race that involved three counties: Ashland, Lorain and Medina.

Good. Now finally, maybe some change. Maybe. Shouldn’t get my hopes up. I guess I’ll just sit back and watch the fireworks and wait another 2 years for the chance to get rid of some more dead weight. Hopefully next time, no one is unopposed.
